Bunny Buns

While sitting in Stake Conference I was looking at the children's friend that Miriam was reading. (By the way, I can multi-tax so I was also listening to the speaker) As she turned the page I noticed the title "Bunny Buns" and got really excited. Mom made us bunny buns when we were smaller. Sure enough, it was the original bunny buns page from 1982. We made them Sunday night. Although they didn't look like I remember, they still tasted the same. The first bite brought all the magical memories of being small. Thanks Mom for doing little things with us so we could have sweet moments later in life :)

Projects Projects Projects

The past couple of months have been redecorating months for me. The first project I took on was repainting the guest room bed. What used to be oak is now a distressed black. Add some new pillows, lamps, a wall hanging and voile... a new and improved guest room for our guests that stay here on their way to somewhere else :)

Note: The tree is still missing it's pictures to make it a family tree. So for now it's just a fabulous tree with oval frames.

The second project was our computer desk.It is also made out of the same awesome oak. I used a cream color with a brown wash over the top. This project is not quite finished either. The lamp base will soon be painted red and there will be an accompanying red wood chair to go with it. I just need to find one to paint.

April Fool's

Lot's of fun this year for April fools! The kids gave their friends donut seeds. For dinner I made them grilled cheese sandwich's made out of orange frosting and pound cake baked in a loaf pan. Joseph and Miriam took a minute to taste their sandwich because they thought it looked weird. Taylor dug right in and ate it all up. Go figure. The best was waiting for Thad to get home. After putting the kids to bed he got his cookies and milk ready, the computer on and went to get into bed for a relaxing night of television and cookies. Oh wait!! Something was not right. He couldn't get his feet all the way in the bed. Hahahahahahahahahah. I didn't even mind remaking the bed.

Businessman of the Year

Joseph's school had an economics project this year where they had a certain amount of money to use for the project. The objective was to think of something they could sell and earn the most money. Joseph made tic-tac-toe board from interfacing, using pom-poms for the pieces you put on the board. He also made how to instructions. Some of the instructions had a hidden bonus on the back for a free desk clean. He got second highest in the 3rd grade.
